These people were students at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in the mid 1940s. They are shown here drawing outdoors as part of an art class held on the lawn in front of Samford Hall in March, 1946. The student sitting by herself in the middle of the class is Lallah Miles Perry (class of 1946), who is the daughter of Eunice Rebecca Stodghill Miles, also an Auburn graduate (class of 1917) and Lee Ellis Miles. Lallah Miles Perry went on to become a famous artist working in oils, watercolor, acryllic, fabric, and combinations of the above. She was a member of the Allison's Well Art Colony in Mississippi and a founder of the Mississippi Art Colony. She taught art in the Choctaw, Mississippi Schools and at Delta State University and Meridian Community College. The other students are unidentified.
