Reed had been accused of attempting to bribe Senator Dudley Perry to pass a bill on dog racing in Macon County. (The trial had been preceded by two mistrials due to juror complications.) Includes an interview with a Mrs. Robinson, who led a committee asking Attorney General Bill Baxley not to order a retrial for Reed. A public hearing on the matter was scheduled for the following week. 0:28:19: During a press conference, Lieutenant Governor Jere Beasley discusses the abolition of the special Interim Committee on Finance and Taxation, which was hidden in Representative Alvin Holmes's resolution honoring Auburn University sprinter Harvey Glance.
