Description
Summary:George Mitchell of WSFA-TV interviewing Albert Brewer after his return from the 1969 National Governors' Conference, which was held in Washington, D.C. on February 26 and 27. They discuss an unsuccessful resolution that Governor Ronald Reagan introduced at the conference, in which he called for the federal government to investigate campus unrest for evidence of a "nationwide plot." While Brewer expresses his support of the measure, he also acknowledges that a lot of the demonstrations are "purely local and self-contained." Other subjects covered in the interview include Brewer's meeting with the Alabama congressional delegation during his recent trip; ongoing discussions with state legislators about the "problems of education"; and an upcoming investigation into "charges about misconduct" in the operation of the state's prison system.
