Summary:Raw footage shot for "Wallace in the West," a documentary produced by Jack Venable of WSFA-TV to describe Governor George Wallace's tour of Colorado, Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington in January 1964. Wallace made the trip to voice his opposition to the pending Civil Rights Bill of 1964 and to promote industrial development in Alabama. Included are speeches and statements delivered by Wallace and others on the tour; interviews with both his supporters and detractors; and scenes of civil rights demonstrators gathered outside the venues where Wallace appeared.
