description Legislators discussing a Federal Communications Commission order requiring eight cities in the United States to switch from VHF (Very High Frequency) to UHF (Ultra High Frequency), which would have limited the reach of stations such as WSFA. The following cities were included in the order: Montgomery, Alabama; Madison, Wisconsin; Rockford, Illinois; Champaign, Illinois; Harford, Connecticut; Erie, Pennsylvania; Binghamton, New York; and Columbia, South Carolina. The first segment of this film is an interview at WSFA with Alabama Senators Vaughan Hill Robison and Robert G. Kendall, who discuss a joint resolution urging the FCC to reconsider the change. In the second segment (starting at 0:01:19), Congressman Kenneth Roberts addresses his constituents, explaining the potential effects of the proposed FCC order and legislation that he introduced to counteract it. He is joined at first by Illinois Congressmen Peter Mack and William Springer, whose districts would also have been affected.
