description In the letter Fleming discusses a couple of wartime exhibits that have been developed for display in select fairs (Alabama is one of only 23 states listed): "The State Fairs bring together annually millions of people, many of whom are not easily reached through the ordinary channels of communication. They afford an unusual opportunity for showing the public what war work is most urgently needed and what is being done. There is perhaps no better way of telling the rank and file of our countrymen what the war means and what each individual must do to help win the war than to show him by exhibits at the fairs what your State Council of Defense, State Division of the Woman's Committee, and other agents of the Government have been doing." Also included are plans for the exhibits and instructions for using them at both state and county fairs.
