Letter from Hugh William Caffey in Hillsboro, North Carolina, to his brother, Thomas.
Hugh Caffey practiced medicine in Lowndes County and Chilton County, Alabama. During the Civil War, he served as a surgeon for the Confederate forces in Virginia and North Carolina, and Thomas served in the 3rd Alabama Infantry regiment. A transcription is included.
