Diary kept by Joseph Wilkinson, post adjutant of Fort Morgan, during the siege of the fort in August 1864.
In the diary he discusses daily activities in the fort; the commanders of Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines; the Battle of Mobile Bay; and the bombardment of Fort Morgan (including casualties from the regiments of the 7th Alabama Infantry and the 1st Tennessee Infantry).
