Description
Summary:Card issued by the Committee for Free Democratic Electors, encouraging voters to choose electors who will defend "Southern tradition" when participating in the 1960 presidential election: "If the Los Angeles Democratic Convention adopts a program hostile to the fundamental principles on which constitutional and civilized government in the South is based...we will not cast our electoral votes for the nominee of that Convention, but will favor casting our electoral vote for some Democrat of national stature who understands and sympathizes with the peculiar racial problems of the South." The symbol of the Alabama Democratic Party is on one side of the card; it features a rooster with banners above and below the bird that say "White Supremacy / For the Right."
