Writ of arrest issued to the sheriff of Autauga County of the Alabama Territory, commanding him "to take the body of Mathew Duncan, if to be found within your county & him safely keep" until the date of his trial.
A note on the back explains the charge to the accused, Mathew Duncan: "Take notice this action is brought to recover the price of a horse the proper goods & chattels of Thomas Cargill which you took & converted to your own use." A transcription is included.
