Summary:From November 1863 through the end of the Civil War, Bolling Hall, Jr., was colonel of the 59th Alabama Infantry regiment. In the letter he discusses his own health (including his injured leg) and that of his brother, Crenshaw; conditions in camp; and recent campaigns. He also mentions that his servant, Gilbert, "is disposed to carry out your instructions to the letter about the brandy - The rascal would only let me have one drink yesterday & the day before."
