Summary:From June 1862 to November 1863, Bolling, Crenshaw, and John Hall served in 2nd Battalion, Hilliard’s Legion. James and Thomas served in Company K of the 24th Alabama Infantry regiment. In the first letter, Bolling explains that "Jim & Tom came up with us last night for the first time & are at present here with me so we are all five together now & all well & in good spirits. This is the first time we five have been together for several years." The brothers discuss recent troop movements and positions; changes in command; and upcoming campaigns.
