Letter from Samuel G. Jones, engineer and superintendent of the Alabama and Florida Railroad Company in Montgomery, Alabama, to Lieutenant Colonel Minor Meriwether.

In the letter Jones reports that the company removed railroad rails, spikes, chairs, and chains, and sent the collected iron to Pollard, Alabama. He includes a list of the numbers and weights of the materials, and mentions the amount he plans to charge the Confederate government for this service.
