description |
The commissioners discuss the towns through which they traveled; the points marked on the proposed boundary line; and the landscape in northeastern Alabama and northwestern Georgia. They also refer to the conflict between themselves and the commissioners from Alabama: "The Comrs. on the part of Georgia deem'd it highly expedient to commence their operations as the Surveyor & hands & provisions were ready & the State at a considerable daily expense while Alabama was comparatively at none, having no Surveyor or hand - and whenever a proposition for discussion was made, the Comr. present would wave it till his coadjutor shou'd arrive, & has now sollicited indulgence till Monday following - this was finally consented to, but expressly understood that on Monday the operations shou'd commence under certain restrictions..."
