Letters from William Riley Jones in Jackson, Mississippi, to his wife, Mary, and his father, John.
During the Civil War, Jones served in Company G of the 41st Alabama Infantry Regiment; he was killed in the Battle of Chickamauga on September 20, 1863. In the letters he discusses money he is sending to his relatives at home, Most of the ink is very faded and difficult to read.
