I don't see how I came out as well as I did for I never had the bullets to flie [sic] around me so thick before in life also shell and grape but thank God I was spaired [sic]." He asks Martha to send his winter clothes and make him some pants, and he asks for his other sister, Sallie, to knit and dye a glove to match the one he has lost. |
