Description
Summary:During the Civil War, Alfred Moore served in the 33rd Alabama Infantry Regiment. In the letter he mentions troop movement after the Confederate loss at Corinth, Mississippi: "Our leaving Ky. I think was brought about by our defeat at Corinth, which ruined no doubt Gen. Bragg's plans. I was sorry indeed to learn we had been so badly defeated at Corinth, but it ought not to discourage any one in the least." He also mentions fighting in Kentucky, where he had been stationed, and he asks for letters and newspapers from home.
