In the first letter, written April 29, 1935, Mrs. M. M. Lewis applies for electrification at her farm; she believes that "there will be a sufficient number of subscribers to justify a line along this route." In the second letter, written May 1, 1935, Persons explains that the Authority is awaiting instructions from the national organization before it begins any projects; in the meantime he asks her to submit a county map with the proposed route and a list of possible subscribers. In the third letter, written June 18, 1935, Persons asks Mrs. Lewis has not responded to his request. He again asks for a map and "a list of good, substantial citizens living along the line who will use electricity if it is made available to them at reasonable rates." |
