Among the positions mentioned are postal officials, judges, sheriffs (Bibb County, in particular), notaries public, state attorney general, Salt Springs agent, and director of the Mobile Branch of the Bank of the State of Alabama. Of particular interest are a commission for William Rufus King to serve in the U.S. Senate, and a letter requesting the appointment of a county health officer for Russell County because of a smallpox outbreak in Girard.
