Description
Summary:In the letter Bankhead discusses the "infamous interview" Tallulah gave to Gladys Hall of Motion Picture magazine, and assures her that it "will not permanently impair your standing with the public." He remarks that the incident "has shown to you the very great wisdom of not giving out any interviews in the future whatever to any person" and suggests that if she does grant interviews in the future, she should "insist that nothing be published until you had censored the statement so that only the truth of your expressions should be published." He mentions her latest film, THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP, and comments on her career: "I do hope and pray that your management will ultimately find for you a picture that will give you a real opportunity to produce a masterpiece, which they have so far not done." He also asks about her financial situation: "Hope that the depression has not seriously interfered with your salary basis and I do hope that you are saving at least half of your salary in the trust fund which you told me you had established."
