Summary: | In the first letter, dated December 15, 1941, Landrum reports on the activities of the school council, and she suggests an emblem to be used specifically for such high school organizations: "Since the various organizations of the Civilian Defense Program have emblems, the Council here would like to submit one for high school Defense Councils - if such a thing, you think, is in order. The emblem the members suggest would be similar to others - the letters H S (red) in a white triangle which is in a blue circle. Below is a sketch of it" (clipped to the page).
