Description
Summary:As an adult, Angel worked for many years at the Gardiner-Warring Knitting Mill (later the J. T. Flagg Knitting Company) in Florence. She married twice, first to Kenneth L. Casperson around 1945, and then to William Maloney (a former beau) in 1966. This scrapbook documents Angel's romantic interests, emotional moods, and social activities as a young woman in the 1930s. It contains images of couples (mostly film stills of actors) cut out of newspapers and magazines; words and phrases cut out of newspapers and magazines; handwritten quotes and notes from or about her friends and men that she liked; a few photographs of friends; and various ephemeral or three-dimensional items, such as a screw, cigarettes, sticks of gum, candy wrappers, handkerchiefs, a University of Alabama button pin, and a Halloween costume cap. She also refers several times to the Bloody Bucket, possibly a roadhouse in Tuscumbia. Blank pages have been omitted.
