Most of the letters in the copybook are signed by J. W. Dimmick (company president from 1891 to 1903) or Edwin L. Calahan (general manager from 1891 to about 1899). Subjects discussed include general business conditions; resolutions passed by the board of directors; daily operations and overall condition of the railway; potential property sales and expansion of the railway line; consolidation with the Montgomery and Cloverdale Electric Railway Company; and the electrification of the line by the Montgomery Light and Power Company.
