Letter from G. Horton, mayor of Mobile, Alabama, to Governor Wager Swayne.

In the letter Horton agrees with Swayne's recent suggestion that African Americans be appointed to the police force in Mobile: "I think it is but right as well as politic that they should have a fair showing, and the sooner it can be prudently done, the better."
