The correspondents include Indian agent Benjamin Hawkins, David Kerr, U.S. Army Major General Thomas Pinckney, U.S. Army Major General Andrew Jackson, and U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel of Artillery Francis K. Huger. The records discuss a variety of military subjects including general orders; Indians in the area; the forts of Jackson, Decatur, and Deposit; supplies; and court-martial arrangements.
