Summary:In the letter Larey says he is doing well and that all of his efforts "have been crowned with success." He talks about the political climate and adds that "Alabama is firm and decided. He adds that he would like to have Christmas dinner with his family back in South Carolina, but that he has ordered a review of his regiment and cannot leave immediately, so he will visit his family in January.
