description In the letter, Moore responds to the governor's suggestion that the school board acquire radios for classroom use: "I can see the possibilities whereby this might be made a very useful source of information and education provided a radio set could be installed in each of the schools and thereby obtain a great deal of information that otherwise would not be available. As mankind advances and becomes wise enough to co-operate with the forces of nature our opportunities are widely extended and in many cases we may be able to take advantage of these natural powers and lighten the burdens of humanity and make them more intelligent. As we go along no doubt we will find many other uses for the ether, which has been with us from the beginning of creation though we are just getting wise enough to begin to use it." Moore also asks if the equipment can be purchased using state funds, so that it can be "financed in a legal way" that does not rely on donations by individuals (in which case, "some of the schools would get the advantage of it while others would not").
