Description
Summary:During the first meeting, on February 14, 1979, two women presented a debate on the ERA. During the second, on March 6, members discussed whether or not the Alabama Junior League should get involved in the matter, and a poll was taken of the membership. Though the majority of the participants did not support the ERA (130 against, 33 for, and 4 undecided), most of the members did not feel that the Alabama League or the Montgomery chapter should take an official position.
