Letters written by Harriett Engelhardt from January to June 1944, while she was in Canada and England during World War II.
A few letters from other correspondents are also included. During the war Engelhardt worked with the Red Cross in Europe. She was killed in a jeep accident in October 1945, the day before she was scheduled to return to the United States.
