Summary:They are holding signs that read, "Am I Next? / Protect People Not Guns. / #gunreformnow"; "Fear Has No Place in Schools"; "Books Not Bullets"; "NRA Be Like [drawing of Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants]"; "Text Students to 644-33"; "Aren't I More Important Than Your Guns"; "Protect Lives / Not Guns"; and "No Fear in Schools / #Enough / March for Our Lives." The main March for Our Lives event, which took place in Washington D.C. on March 24, 2018, was organized by students who survived the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Smaller marches were held around the world, including seven in cities around Alabama. In Dothan, demonstrators marched from Porter Park to Kinney Park.
