His autobiography "Up From Slavery" has been translated into more than 19 different languages. He died in 1915 and is buried on the campus of Tuskegee Institute, where, in 1921, a bronze monument to his memory was unveiled. The United States Government selected Booker T. Washington as one of the five American educators to be honored in the 35 Famous American Series of Commemorative Postage Stamps issued in 1940. The Booker T. Washington stamp is of the ten cent denomination."
