Summary:(Photographed in civilian attire.) Entered Confederate service as a private in the 9th Louisiana Infantry in July 1861. Elected lieutenant colonel in the spring of 1862. After promoting through the grades, Peck was promoted to brigadier general in February 1865. Major campaigns and battles include the Shenandoah campaign, Seven Days', Second Manassas, Antietam, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Third Winchester, Petersburg, and Appomattox. After the war, Peck returned to Louisiana to farm. He died in Madison Parish, Louisiana, in January 1861 and is buried in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Sources: Boatner, Mark M.
