Antebellum lawyer and U.S. representative from Ohio. An ardent opponent of President Abraham Lincoln, he was imprisoned during the war and later banished to the Confederacy. Vallandigham was also critical of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, however, and was eventually ejected from the South....
