Summary: | (Uniform indicates rank of brigadier general.) Mexican War veteran. Commissioned as a colonel of the 15th Alabama Infantry in 1861 and promoted to brigadier general in January 1863. Major campaigns and battles include the Shenandoah Valley campaign, Seven Days', the Atlanta campaign, and the Carolinas.
