Major campaigns and battles include the Peninsular campaign, Second Manassas, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Spotsylvania, 1864 Valley campaign, Third Winchester (wounded), and Five Forks. After the war, Lee became a planter and served as governor of Virginia. Lee died in Washington, D.C., in April 1905 and is buried in Richmond, Virginia. Sources: Boatner, Mark M.
