Summary:"Montgomery, Ala.: Atty. Gen. John Patterson cross examines Grover C. Hall Jr., Editor-In-Chief of The Montgomery Advertiser, in a heraring to determine whether Circuit Judge Walter B. Jones is qualified to preside over a contempt of court case against the NAACP. Patterson, youthful Democratic nominee for governor, holds a political advertisement which appeared in the Advertiser which said Jones believes in segregation and that the NAACP is 'Communist-dominated.' Jones later qualified himself to hear the case and admitted he paid for the advertisements."
