Pauline M. Davidson, who grew up in Poland and spent the early part of World War II fleeing the Nazis.
Davidson witnessed many atrocities and was severely beaten by a Nazi soldier before escaping into Russia. She immigrated to the United States with her husband in 1951. In 1991, Louisa Weinrib of Montgomery, Alabama, interviewed her about these experiences.
