John Bankhead was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 1865 to 1867 and from 1880 to 1881; the Alabama Senate from 1876 to 1877; and the U.S. Senate from 1907 to 1920. William Bankhead served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1917 to 1940.
