Clemon worked in the LDF office in New York from 1968 to 1969, but the most of his career was spent in Alabama, where he was a lawyer, legislator, and U.S. District Court judge (1980 to 2009). This photographs were taken by Jim Peppler, worked as a photographer for the LDF from about 1966 to 1985.
