William Dorsey Jelks

Jelks was a member fo the Alabama Senate from 1898 to 1901. As president of the Senate, he assumed the role of governor in December 1900 when Governor Samford was ill. Jelks took office again when Samford died in June of 1901, and he remained governor until 1907.
