Herbert was the son of Herbert P. and Josephine Tresslar; his father was a photographer in Montgomery, Alabama, from about 1888 to 1926. Edgar Cayce, who took this photograph, operated a photography studio in Marion in 1915 and at times worked with Herbert Tresslar.
