Harriett Engelhardt with a soldier who is wearing "looted ram's horns."

During World War II Engelhardt, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, worked with the Red Cross in Europe. She was killed in a jeep accident in October 1945, the day before she was scheduled to return to the United States.
