Summary:Case is missing. Ambrotype is 2 x 2.5 inches. According to information submitted by a descendant, Guild was born to Judge Marmaduke and Agnes Payne Williams in North Carolina on June 9, 1802; she died in Alabama on February 9, 1885. She married Dr. James Guild of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and their son, Dr. Lafayette Guild, was the medical director of the Army of Northern Virginia during the Civil War. Her sister, Dolly Payne Williams, married Judge Thomas Owen of Tuscaloosa. Their grandson, Thomas McAdory Owen, was the first director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History.
