Mantel in the upstairs west room of the Caleb Johnston House on the south side of County Road 6, 1.1 miles east of the junction with County Road 29 in Johnstonville, Alabama.
The house was built around 1835 for Caleb Johnston; it remained in the family until it collapsed around 1990. The structure was an important early example of an extended I house with a Carolina-type porch. [AHC number CC-0002]
