The photograph was taken on behalf of the Montgomery Examiner, probably for a football promotional spot. The Seven Seas Restaurant, owned by Mike and Sandra Miaoulis, was open from 1953 until late 1964 or early 1965. During that time, Miaoulis was awarded the Salut au Restaurateur by the Alabama Restaurant Association. He sold the restaurant to become the Food and Beverage Director for The Governor's House Motel, which opened in 1965. Miaoulis later became general manager of the establishment and helped to make it one of the top convention centers in the area. |
