Governor George Wallace with members of the Citronelle High School football team, who had just defeated Millry High School to win the Citronelle Oil Bowl.
The annual Oil Bowl, sponsored by the Citronelle Jaycees, was held in November from 1960 to 1976. Governor Wallace spoke during halftime, and he presented the trophy to the winning team.
