Virginia Durr seated in the yard of a brick house, possibly the home of Robert Smith in Washington, D.C.
Virginia and her husband, Clifford were active proponents of the civil rights movement. The Durrs allowed staff members of The Southern Courier to live in their home on Felder Avenue in Montgomery. Robert Smith was an editor at the Courier in 1965 and 1966.
