Adams was a darkroom technician for the Courier. The main office for the Southern Courier was at the Frank Leu Building in downtown Montgomery, but at some point the staff used darkroom set up at Jim Peppler's apartment in Clifford and Virginia Durr's house on Felder Avenue.
