Description
Summary:Page 3 from a series of township maps of Macon County, Alabama. The following are visible: the Tallapoosa River, Oakfuskee Creek, Cubihatchee [Cubahatchee] or J. C. Pinkston Creek, the Western Railway of Alabama, "Shorters Station," and the Elmore County line. The page is signed by delineator Rufus Henry Hitson. These maps were drawn by WPA workers under the supervision of Paul Grimes, an engineer with the State Highway Department, and they are based on information compiled in 1936 by the Alabama Relief Administration from county probate records. Each of the township maps includes a list of property owners in the area that is also illustrated on the map itself.
