The "mast tree" lying in the Tensaw River near Stockton, Alabama.
The Stockton mast tree, was used to provide access to masts and riggings on sailing ships on the river in the 19th century. It overhung the water until sometime after World War II, when it was struck by lightening and fell into the river.
